Biography: Ms. D'Elia is a seasoned trial attorney and litigator with over 35 years of combined corporate and legal experience. She is the former CFO, officer and board member of The Camp Shop, Inc., and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kamer Knit & Screen, Ltd. Ms. D'Elia earned her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 1996 and has successfully negotiated, litigated and tried hundreds of matters since that time. She has also argued before the justices of the New York State Appellate Division - Second Department; District Court justices sitting in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals - Second Circuit.


While in law school Ms. D'Elia received the Cathy Bennett Overall Best Advocate Award from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the Best Advocate Award from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy; the Award for Excellence, Moot Court Competition & Trial Advocacy Programs from the Trial Lawyers Section of the Nassau and Suffolk Counties Bar Assocations; and a selected participant to the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court.


Ms. D'Elia began her legal career as a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society of New York. Upon leaving Legal Aid Ms. D'Elia formed the partnership of D'Elia and Worgan, P.C. with Andrew S. Worgan, former Bureau Chief of Homicide during his tenure with the Queens District Attorney's Office. Moreover, Ms. D'Elia is a former Associate of the Law Offices of Lawrence S. Goldman. Mr. Goldman is a nationally recognized attorney whose distinguished achievements include participation as a consultant to the New York City Commission to Investigate Allegations of Police Corruption (Knapp Commission) and former member and chair of the New York State Commission of Judicial Conduct.


Ms. D'Elia is affiliated with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York State Bar Association, New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York Criminal Bar Assocation, New York City Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association, Womens Bar Assocation of the State of New York and the Queens County Womens Bar Association.


Ms. D'Elia has been a guest lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park; Mock Trial competition judge; instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. She currently co-coaches the HAFTR mock trial team.  She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and United States Court of Appeals - Second Circuit.


Ms. D'Elia is known as a dynamic communicator skilled in engaging clients and colleagues. She is recognized as a tough litigator and zealous client advocate with proven ability to manage and successfully negotiate and litigate complex and demanding cases.
